Great news coming from the SFPD this morning as they report an arrest in the brutal assault and robbery of a young woman on Market Street that occurred post Pink Saturday celebration that was caught on camera and outraged the entire community.

Via SFPD press release, on July 26, 2013, 23y/o Christopher Porter-Bailey of Oakland was taken into custody by the Mission Station Investigation Team who worked in cooperation with Oakland Police Department to apprehend Mr. Porter-Bailey.

The suspect was charged with robbery, aggravated assault and battery likely to produce serious injury. Mr. Porter-Bailey remains in custody.

As we posted previously two other suspects have also been arrested in association with this attack.

Investigators are continuing to develop leads to determine whether this suspect arrested and his companions were the same ones who committed many of the other robberies and assaults that occurred on June 30th on Market Street between Civic Center and Castro Street around the same time period.  Persons who believe that they were victims or potential victims of the same suspects, but did not report the incident are urged to contact the Mission Station Investigation Team at 415-558-5400.

Many thanks to all the officers involved!

And thank you to the owner of the security camera, too! Without it, this criminal would not have been caught. More cameras!

Hey Mitch, the police have not let us know whether or not this footage led to his arrest. It could have, but I don’t want people to get the wrong impression if it didn’t. FYI
