The dashing, jack-of-all-trades, Bay Area native actor James Franco will be making an appearance at the Castro Theatre this Sunday to discuss life, love, Hollywood, and his newest exploit: a book! Yes, when he’s not acting, directing, producing, or teaching, he apparently writes too! His
first* book is titled, Actors Anonymous, a tell-all about the dark heart of being a celebrity and the wild ride to the private club known as Hollywood. “I open the gates. I say welcome. I say, Look inside.”
Jamesy (what I will call him when I wake up next to him one day…one day) will be conversing with Jordan Bass, Executive Editor, McSweeney’s. The event is sponsored by The Commonwealth Club and general admission for non-members is $30.
* Ken White over at Books, Inc. in the Castro emailed us to let us know that Actors Anonymous is actually his fourth(!) book,
“Actor’s Anonymous is not James Franco’s first book, he’s actually got three titles out before this one. In 2010 he published a book of not-bad short stories called Palo Alto. He published a book of his own visual art called James Franco: Dangerous Book Four Boys. And most recently he published a sort of pictorial memoir called A California Childhood earlier this summer, which has a dorky but sexy picture of a teenage James pulling up his t-shirt.”
