It was a spectacular day throughout San Francisco with warm weather bringing many San Franciscans tired of the rain out of their homes and into San Francisco’s beautiful parks.

The beautiful afternoon, unfortunately, ended in angst with a stabbing at Dolores Park. At approximately 7:25PM this evening San Francisco Police Department responded to the park regarding a physical fight resulting in one victim being stabbed in the torso. The victim was transported to San Francisco General with a non-life threatening injury.

Unfortunately no information on the suspect was given. The case is under investigation and the SFPD needs your help. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the SFPD through their non-emergency line at (415) 553-0123 or submit a tip online.

It’s not known what the altercation was about, but this weekend marked the official first weekend where the northern half of Dolores Park was fenced off in preparation for renovations. We hope that with the limited space people can keep their cool so everyone can still enjoy the open half of the park safely.

Apparently, the stabbing victim was a good samaritan who was defending a 16 year old boy from a group of thugs, according to a parent that emailed in,

The stabbing victim was defending my 16 year old son who was jumped by a group of thugs looking for trouble. One of the suspects took a pair of glasses off his face, taunting him and eventually throwing the first punch. As my son stood his ground to defend himself another suspect came up behind and hit him in the head with his skateboard. Realizing he was out numbered my son ran from the scene only to be chased by a group of 8 or 10 guys. He said someone came out of no where and hit him on the head with another skateboard. He fell to the ground and when the rest of the gang caught up to him and started kicking, punching and hitting him as he lay helpless. At this point the stabbing victim attempted to defend my son only to be stabbed by one of the suspects from behind. My son said he must have been hit about 40 or more times, suffering two black eyes, swollen lip and bloody nose before someone came to help. If it wash’t for that good samaritan he could have been killed. Our hearts go out to this unknown person and wish him a speedy recovery. As for the rest of the crowd who stood by taking videos of the scene SHAME ON YOU!” If you have an ounce of decency I beg you to contact the authorities and provide your video as evidence.
