Nosey neighbor: Scaffolding up around Harvey’s

We noticed there was scaffolding placed around Harvey’s Restaurant (500 Castro Street) and we wondered what was up. We reached out to Harvey’s General Manager Steve Porter who told us that the scaffolding was up for the rehab of the exterior of the building.

The restaurant has some architectural elements and molding to repair and will be pouring on a new coat of paint when repairs are finished. The color will be near the same with a duo-tone terra cotta finish. The restaurant and adjacent businesses Puff ‘n Stuff and Escape from New York Pizza are open during the rehab. Everything is planned to wrap up around the end of April.

Nothing else to see here. Move along, move along…

move along, move along...

Hey Kevin, I’m not sure what you were expecting…

I did see two cop cars out this morning when I went to take a picture of the scaffolding. There were police officers directing traffic at Market and Castro.

If roads and sidewalks are getting redone, I think traffic “clusterf*cks” kind of go with the territory, don’t you think?

Best advice: take side streets if you are a car driver (and probably for bicyclists too).

          Mike,

I saw your blog post where you celebrated the SFPD investigating this matter because you filed a complaint with the police. It’s ironic that you would do this when you bemoaned the waste of resources it took to penalize you for doing the same thing.

How very brave of you to make sure justice gets served to this Chronicle photographer. What a great use of your talent.

Please don’t hijack a thread on the blog again to discuss unrelated issues (that’s called trolling and SPAM) (a sentence at the end of your comment stating a fact already in the post does not count as being on topic).

Also, I don’t know if you got my tweet yesterday, but I believe your Twitter account has been hacked. I received a tweet from you that asked for my twitter username and password. You may want to change your Twitter account password.

Hey Michael, why don’t you tell everyone why you are such an expert on the laws regulating photography in rest rooms. In case readers forgot…….

Valencia Street survived their re-do. Sure it was a mess but life went on. Taking side streets is indeed the best advice.

Terrific to see the building being maintained. All good.

Regarding KSF’s comment: we have had plenty of warning, our community is being improved, they have an ambitious schedule of 6 months to do the work, and yet we still complain.
