SFPD reports officer dragged by car in the Castro

SFPD reported an officer was dragged by a fleeing getaway vehicle around noon today,

“At approximately 12:35 PM this afternoon, officers responded to a citizen calling about a suspicious person on the 500 block of Castro. Officers responded to investigate. This led to a foot pursuit. The suspect entered a vehicle to effect his escape in and around 18th and Castro Streets, and an officer was dragged by the get-away vehicle. The officer declined medical treatment at the scene. This is all very preliminary information, and officers are still searching for the suspect and vehicle. I have no details regarding a description of the suspect or vehicle at this time, or what prompted the initial call for police services.”
