The Castro Biscuit covers happenings in San Francisco’s beautiful and crazy Castro neighborhood. We currently have one regular blogger with several guest contributors who scout around the Castro looking for the latest buzz. Want to contribute? Email [email protected].
Roy McKenzie – Founder / Managing Editor – Roy has been a Castro resident since 2010. He is a front-end developer by trade and likes bicycling, food, and Star Trek. You can find him on Twitter or in the real world biking around the Castro or the Haight.
Waiyde Palmer – Waiyde loves San Francisco, social activism and punk rock(ers). His work has appeared in Handbook Magazine. SF Bay Times, The Advocate, Diseased Pariah News and American Music Press. He has an extensive and repeatedly redacted FBI file.
We’re happy to have some great community members who contribute their voices to the Biscuit: Liz Highleyman, Ken White, and Jennifer Morris. If you’re interested in submitting a guest post, email us at [email protected].
Why “Castro Biscuit”?
A good friend and myself (speaking as Roy here) were trying to come up with some clever names for this blog. Something that would be memorable and easy to spell. We came up with “Castro Biscuit” after about 10 or so names that were as equally nonsensical and decided that this was the most memorable. Catchy, eh?
Who pays for this?
We seem to get this question a lot. When we post something that may seem pro-Wiener, people think we’re on Wiener’s dole. When we post something that may seem anti-Wiener, people think we’re on the dole of (insert activist cause) activists. For the record, no one pays for this blog or its writers. Hosting is paid for by the blog owner, Roy McKenzie. He is not on any board or committee, nor does he hold any office of any esteem. Keep calm and carry on.
